Q: Stacey, art is an essential attribute of your life. When did you first become interested in it?
A: I loved to draw when I was a little girl. It was unquestionably my favorite thing to do, but the actual passion for art came much later. I was too busy studying music and didn't have enough time for art school. My dad wanted me to become a pianist, but I always wanted to be an artist. I just knew that one day I'll be able to pursue my dream.
Q: Although your style is truly original, which movements have you been influenced by, any artists in particular?
A: I love the Impressionism! Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Renoir are some of my favorites. I also love Van Gogh and Salvador Dali. A lot of my creativity comes from within, however like any other artist I get influenced by the circumstances in my life and the environment, so some of the inspiration comes from other artists.
Q: How do you define success as an artist?
A: All I want is to be respected for my artistic ability. I guess success will come with experience.
Q: Do you have any interests besides painting?
A: I try to concentrate on something useful like playing piano, reading, walking in the park with my dog Funzy, doing Yoga. Oh yeah, I also sing in the shower and write poetry. That pretty much sums it up.
Q: So, what's next for you? Do you have big dreams?
A: Absolutely! I have few things lined up for me here in Atlanta in terms of showing my work to the public. I am going to be published in the art magazine this summer; very excited about that! Big dreams take a while to come true, so I work hard and hope for the best results.
